Call to Order- President John Whitlock calls meeting to order at 8:16pm. Minutes from Aug. 7, 2007 meeting are read and accepted as written
Presidents Report- Thank You to Steve and Coleen Worthley for all their time spent at the rink collecting payments. Midget team does not look like a possibility this year. We have approximately 16 to17 potential players. Only 8 have paid. There is a lot of concern regarding the price for the half season of $275 for 14 practices and 8-10 games. There is also the possibility that there may not be a goalie. There were questions regarding player movement. There has been 1 player moved from Squirt B to Squirt A. Player did play a Squirt B game before decision was made.
Treasurers Report- Financial situation is in much better shape than in previous years. Letters have been sent out to families from years past that have outstanding balances with S.Y.H. We have received some payments. N.S.H.L. will have to be paid in a timely manner as compared to previous years due to financial situation at the rink. Letters will be sent out regarding payments. Coaches should inform parents about payments. S.Y.H. should consider purchasing a credit card machine instead of renting one every time one is needed.
Coaching Director- Will pick a date for a full checking clinic at PeeWee level. We will have a coaches’ meeting to cover all forms, practice prep and game prep. CORI forms must be filled out.
League Rep. - Will need rosters and numbers for Valley League.
Ice Coordinator- Still do not have Oct. practice ice schedule from Kasabuski Arena.
Fund Raising- Canning will be Sat. Sept. 29. We are waiting for checks for the fundraising banner. Also, looking into other various fund raising opportunities. There is potentially a Coco Keyes night.
P/W – Squirt Director- CORI forms are in from P/W A and B teams and all of the Squirt division. Helmets must be worn by all coaches and high school students performing community service that are on the ice. Only high school students performing community service are allowed on the ice besides rostered players and coaches during practices.
Mite Director- Need coaches packets. Instructional number is at 19 with 2 potential players registering. We need to make a decision regarding 3 on 3 leagues.
Equipment Director- Will order Learn to Skate shirts. Shirt bags have been ordered. First aid kits will be picked up. Coaches should be all set with equipment.
Registrar- A district meeting is scheduled for next week.
New Business- Dennis Hartigan presents goals and mission of Cronin Tournament. Expresses the wishes of Cronin family. Volunteers are needed for entire weekend especially Sat. morning between 6:20 and 9:30. There is the possibility that a former Bruin will speak before the traditional Saugus/Danvers game on Sat. morning. Linda Myers presents opportunity for all S.Y.H. coaches to be CPR certified. She also presents various opportunities to achieve this. She will work on grant for the rink to purchase a defibrillator. Informs S.Y.H. that Coronet Cleaners will stitch names on shirts for $3 per shirt. Asks of the possibility of selling used equipment on website for a possible fee.
