Minutes of the Board of Directors Monthly Meeting

June 1, 2007

Call to order- President John Whitlock calls meeting to order at 8:10pm. Motion to accept the previous meeting minutes by Ron Ruszkowski. Motion is seconded by Bill Granara.

President - Thank You to Steve Worthley for organizing and participating in a fundraising wrestling event for SYH. Event made $250.00 for SYH. Announced that all unopposed coaches for acceptance. Spoke with Steve Rappa about running goalie clinics. Chris Connors is running a hockey camp August 13-17 for Mites through Bantams. Names and email addresses of SYH participants will be provided to clinic organizers, who are familiar to SYH. Anybody with objections should notify us and we won't release there information. Player placement letters were mailed out and are also available online. A coaching committee was announced to select coaches for Peewee A and Peewee B coaches. Committee consists of David Aiken (Chair), Bill Dembro, Bill Cross, and Tom Stretton.

Vice President - Spoke with Jeff Paolini about putting together a shooting clinic. He wants to hold this clinic with Jason Shipulski. Clinic is still being considered in lieu of Jason Shipulski getting a high school coaching job.

Treasurer- Financial reports are ready and available. Explanation is given about financial report. Spoke about a potential rate increase and a $33,708.08 deficit. As part of the yearly operating expenses, fundraising is required to raise between $10,000 and $15,000 per year to maintain the low cost for each family. Please support SYH in all fundraising endeavors. Ron Ruszkowski makes motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report. Tom Stretton seconds the motion.

Ice Coordinator - Spoke to John Hatch and he is very confident about N.S.H.L. and ice availability for SYH this season.

Equipment Manager – One family at the Mite level still needs to return shirts from last year. All shirts should be maintained by the head coach or team manager so this problem can be avoided next season.

League Representative - Added the Squirt C team to the Valley League and the NSHL.

Squirt/PeeWee Director- Has heard complaints about the player selection process, but the overall feedback was positive.

Clinic Director - Received a lot of positive feedback on the program. Few people left the program. Spoke of possible rate increase for out of town families.

Ethics Director – Received inquiries about player selection process.

Coaches were announced and approved for the 2007-2008 season.
